Australian scientists record accelerating glacier loss on sub-Antarctic Heard Island | ABC NEWS

Heard Island, located in the Southern Ocean, is one of the most pristine places on the planet.

But glaciers on the remote Australian territory have undergone significant retreat amid rising temperatures over the past 72 years, new research shows.

Scientists from the Australian Antarctic Program will travel to the island later this year to study the impacts of climate change in the region.
