Jes Star was desperate to own a home but wasn’t earning enough as an aged care worker to get a loan.

She applied to a one-off tiny house scheme, funded by a Canberra philanthropist, which gave her $55,000 to help fund her build.

At 64, she now owns her first home for her and her daughter and no longer feels trapped by housing insecurity.
