Trump proposes US sanctions on Russia for NATO tariffs on China | ABC NEWS

US President Donald Trump has offered to impose sanctions on Russia to end the Ukraine war if NATO countries agree to slap 50-100 per cent tariffs on China.
Washington argues ramping up pressure on China will ultimately help Ukraine because Beijing has a firm grip on Moscow.
NATO is on high alert after Russian drones breached Polish airspace, as Russian President Vladimir Putin tested the military’s pact response.
ABC correspondent Ben Knight says the demand is ‘practically impossible’ for NATO nations to meet due to fears of sparking trade wars with the Asian giant.
