WTWC NBC News 40 Eleven at 11:00 first bit December 24, 1999

In a last ditch attempt to get people to watch their late news, NBC News 40 adopted the 11 at 11 gimmick used by other stations, where the first segment of the newscast was 11 minutes long and had abbreviated versions of the weather and sports segments to go with it. Here’s an example of it from Christmas Eve of 1999.
