MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR JAMES & VENTURO UERIKUA – 15 April 2026

Memorial service for the late Member of Parliament James Uerikua and his son, Venturo, at the Parliament Gardens in Windhoek, Namibia.

The ceremony will include tributes from a range of political leaders, family members, and representatives from Windhoek High School, where Venturo was a learner.

Scheduled speakers include President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare, Speaker Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, and leaders of political parties represented in the National Assembly.

James Uerikua, a Swapo Party Member of Parliament and former governor of Otjozondjupa Region, died on Friday, 3 April 2026, in a car accident on the Otjiwarongo–Okakarara C22 road. He was 43 years old.

His 14-year-old son, Venturo, also lost his life in the same accident.
