Wong defends timing of Revolutionary Guard terrorist decision | Radio National | ABC NEWS

While the Coalition has welcomed the government’s decision to list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation, Shadow Foreign Minister Michaelia Cash has criticised Labor for not doing so sooner.

The government announced on Tuesday it would designate the IRGC as a terror organisation after ASIO said it was behind arson attacks on a Melbourne synagogue and a Sydney deli.

But speaking on Channel Seven’s Sunrise program, Senator Cash said Labor should have listed the group more than two years ago.

On Radio National Breakfast, Foreign Minister Penny Wong pushed back, saying the Albanese government had taken stronger action than previous Coalition governments.
