Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Kate Anderson appeared on OANN’s Tipping Point Tuesday discussing Uzuegbunam v. Preczewski, which ADF attorneys argued before the Supreme Court on Jan. 12. Chike Uzuegbunam, former student at Georgia Gwinnet College, was stopped from speaking about his faith on campus twice and was threatened with discipline if he continued.
ADF filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of Chike in 2016. After ADF challenged the unconstitutional policies, Georgia Gwinnett argued that Chike’s speech should receive no constitutional protection, changed its policy, and claimed it should be able to avoid any penalty for violating Chike’s free speech rights. Two courts agreed. Now the Supreme Court has heard Chike’s case.
